I agree with things that Scad and Argh said, although I have not experienced the problems to the level that they have. Just some simple points:
When latency and packet loss cause major problems, other support organizations tell you to ship them a packet scan and traceroute listing so that they can see where and why the system is breaking down. The fact that MA doesn't ask for this is a clear indicator that they don't care. You can't fix something without seeing where the problem is located.
Per Ubers getting globals and HOF's all the time on medium mobs, where we seem to have a difficult time finding globals at all, may indicate that their Perception and Serendipity are much higher. But if it makes that much difference, its an indication that the weighting factors are way off balance. But I have always felt the weight factors on EU are completely screwed up. Ubers love this, and maybe lobbied for it, but its had a very negative effect on beginning and mid level players.
MA destroyed teams when they removed any equal splits. The damage determines is where things are now, with Leader takes all being the easiest way to make splits, but it requires the whole team stay on line for the entire activity, people can't join and drop out easily. This has been complained about, and its obvious that the fix is easy, as MA had it, but has now removed it. Their argument is processing the stacks into equal splits is just so much Bullsh*t, as they had no problem splitting ped and pec before. The processing is on their server side, so if the load is higher, invest is a bigger processor, or split the loot server (dedicate one to team loots). The solution is trivial, but once again MA doesn't care.
How many people thought getting rid of gold and silver was a great idea?? and loved it?? But did MA care?
Its nice to get ammo for loot, but guess what, its really hard to track success in hunting when you are burning the profits as you play. Does MA care? You bet they do, they love it that we can't track success or failure during hunting. Now you get a pile of items dropping, but add the number up and gee, its only 15 pec split amoung 5 different types of items. Success for MA, really bad for players.
Currently EU is an accountants dream, lots of money coming in and none going out.. perfection.. until you look at player churn, and loss of players, or length of play time..Its an obvious downward spiral. And so far it looks like MA doesn't care about that either.
