Proof of MA's new Policy
« on: December 14, 2007, 04:26:28 AM »

Here is some definite proof that MA is trying to infiltrate your computer.  AVG Virus Scan caught this.

Glad to here that your surgery went ok :)

Hmm you raise a good point, nothing that MA has done recently could be classed as trustworthy so I will certainly keep an eye on this, and there is no way I would turn off my virus protection just because MA says it is ok they should rewrite the problem program so that it does not throw up errors of that kind.

Also they mentioned some change in the EULA but I can't spot it have you seen it yet?

Anyway good to talk with you Ben I hope to see you in AW at some point when your neck is up to it as for the EU VU all I have noticed is some fancy new info boxes and the game is even more sluggish :(

Talk to you later :)

You should not be having this problem anymore if your AVG definitios are up to date.  MA contacted AVG and had their site added to the safe list.  It is disheartening that MA is adding tracking software though.  I suspect it is a new system to try and catch malicious activity though.

Thanks Xerces, yes, the problem went away.  I applaud AVG for catching the change in software, that it caught the tracking software.  I don't have a problem, as it will reduce scammers, keyloggers, hackers, and bots that are used within the system, and even up the playing field a bit.
It annoys me to see someone "master" in 2 or 3 days, but having a bot do the crafting for them.  Actually, I am jealous, because I couldn't afford to spend that much for crafting.
